I have wanted to play football in the NFL since the age of 4, playing flag football until age 8, and tackle ever since. Moreover, I want to provide for a better (financial) life for my family. In 2010, my mother suffered a debilitating stroke, almost died, and was rendered permanently disabled, now suffering from Stage 3 Kidney Disease. In the same year, my father lost his job, and, as the result of all this trauma, my parents became divorced. During this process, my mother lost her home, and my father moved away, both struggling to make ends meet, having difficulty providing for us. This is not the sort of life I want for my own family. I have higher expectations than that for myself and my future. I love football. I love the thrill of the sport. I love the strategy, the science, the math, and the psychology behind it. I love the (controlled) violence - "power, under control" - and the ability to take and leave my frustrations out on the field. I also love the entertainment and the "show" of the sport. I want to be a part of it and make it my life's work. In order to do that, I know that I must play in college for a quality school and football program. However, given my family's circumstances, I know that I must earn a college scholarship in order to be able to attend and play. In order to do that, I know that I must be valued by college coaches. But, I know that I am off to a good start. I attend and play for one of the top 20 elite high school football programs in the country, #1 in the state, and the 2x-returning D-1 State Champion, St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Our players go on to earn scholarships to some of the top-performing colleges and universities. We are well-trained to pursue excellence in all the levels of our lives: athletics, academics, family, and community, and we are well-recognized at the local, state, and national levels. I do not take this fact for granted. I am a dedicated team-player, and I take coaching and direction very well. I work hard, maintain good grades (3.56 GPA), am a class and team leader, and I am dedicated to earning a bright future. I am looking for the right college "fit" for me to be able to contribute to its success and for it to assist me with mine. I want to play for the highest possible level, but am open to all opportunities. I hope you will consider me for the future success of your football program and as an asset to your school. Thank you very much for your consideration.
