2007 Junior year Highlights
by David Baugh
After seeing action late in Warren Harding's 2006 playoff run, Aunre Davis' junior season proved that he could make big plays on a consistant basis. Most of his big plays come at quarterback, but, as he has proven in several camps this offseason, his athleticism could potentially land him as a tailback, wide receiver, or cornerback at the next level, where he is already guranteed to land as he already has offers from Bowling Green, Kent State, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), and Ohio University. His playmaking ability on special teams can't be ignored, so Davis will have plenty of opportunities to gain more attention.
This past track season, Davis, along with football teammates Joe Threats, D.J. Williamson, and Jerrell Butts, finished in third place in the 4x00 at the Dvision 1 State Track & Field Finals in Columbus. His track background has been beneficial towards his football recruitment, so only time will tell how everything will transfer to the field.
